Job Description

In support of the other commercial officers on the team, you will be responsible for the commercial administration and support of various contracts and program functional areas, including: Bid opportunity support, the pre-contractual phase of subcontracts management, negotiations, execution and closeout activities.

A little about our team; we work collaboratively with just about every department at GDMS-C. We contribute to a project’s success by managing commercial risks and building strong relationships with our suppliers. We support domestic and international business opportunities by negotiating NDAs and obtaining competitive pricing from suppliers.

  • Under the supervision or guidance of more senior staff, here are a few examples of what to expect in this role:
  • Supports the corporate due diligence investigations of potential suppliers.
  • Validates conformance to GDMS policies and procedures
  • Responsible for the creation of Requests for Information/Quotes or Proposals
  • Support the development of negotiation strategy
  • Provides input and feedback on new tools and reports for use by the Supply Chain Management Dept.
  • Directly supports senior program staff (program managers, engineering, etc.) in the management of customer programs
  • Interfaces with internal departments such as estimating, finance, engineering, program management, commercial services, executive management in addition to internal auditors and external vendors

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and team effectiveness skills
  • Ability to quickly to changing environment
  • Strong analytical and research abilities, detail oriented, with the ability to work with support
  • Excellent business acumen skills to provide superior customer service to client groups and ability to support key business decision making
  • Deliver clear, concise and professional communications in both spoken and written forms.
  • Comfortable with conducting presentations
  • Hands-on experience with MS Office applications, CRM, Oracle and other related tools
  • Results oriented with a demonstrated ability in time management, knows when to ask for help and ability to delegate to others
  • Post-secondary degree in Business Commerce, Law or other related field
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
