Job Description

As a member of the Airborne Mission Systems leadership team, this role will be responsible for the leadership of the GDMS-Canada RPAS Systems business division. You will drive the achievement of orders, revenue, growth and profitability objectives within the RPAS business plan. Ultimately, you will be responsible not only for executing the business but growing it. The ideal candidate will not only have a proven track record of delivery and execution excellence but be able to create a long term strategy and build business both within Canada and internationally.

 

At the highest level, you will be accountable for:

  • Totality of execution of your business plans within the RPAS portfolio
  • Developing strategic plans
  • Bidding, capturing and winning new business
  • Developing successful leaders within the business
  • Developing an engaged work environment in which the team can thrive

In terms of program execution, the role is responsible for:

  • Management of program budgets and schedules including resource management
  • Oversee all aspects of the program to ensure compliance for technical and programmatic requirements within program budgets
  • Conduct Program Reviews with the Customers and international Senior Management team
  • Establish facilities and infrastructure required for program implementation
  • Fact Finding and Negotiations with the Customers and Subcontractors
  • Preparation of metrics to monitor performance of the programs/business
  • Produce and implement risk management plans for the programs/business
  • Produce and implement a growth management plan for the business
  • Effectively managing leaders within the business to deliver on the program

Basic Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • University degree (Engineering; Science; Business); or College diploma with relevant supplementary education
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Aerospace industry as a Program Manager, Engineering leader or Business leader
  • Experience in managing multiple programs and/or a large scale program
  • Experience with RPAS Systems development
  • Strong Business Acumen - familiarity with resource management, financial measurement and reporting and Bid and Proposal processes
  • Excellent team management and strong interpersonal and consensus building skills
  • Practice a strict code of personal and business ethics
  • Advanced ability to manage programs in accordance with cost, schedule and quality commitments
  • Understanding of all elements of large value contracts/subcontracts
  • Experience with project planning techniques and fiscal management
  • Advanced customer service; influencing and negotiation skills
  • Experience developing and executing large bids and captures and winning.
  • PMI (Project Management) certification is considered an asset
  • Ability to manage through program complexity to find clear paths to success.

Other

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Travel will be required with this position
  • Proficiency in French would be considered an asset
