System Integration, Intermediate

We currently have an opening on our System of Systems SoS team for a System Integration Specialist. Success in this role is the ability to investigate tasks thoroughly, change priorities when needed and being a details person. Root cause analysis skills are important and a broad technical interest as the system itself is complex. You will be working on the Land Command Support System (LCSS), which is a highly integrated tactical system composed of communication, networking and information management sub-systems used by the Canadian Military. You will have exposure to various technical areas and learn from SME’s about the system.

• You will develop test plans, cases, procedures and methods for system verification
• Problem solving to understand the cause and effect in complex systems
• Reviewing technical documentation, provide analysis
• Investigating system defects and raise problem reports
• Conducting tests in the lab, collect customer feedback, and collaborate with other product and engineering teams.
• Some work involving Networking and routing, VLANs, Microsoft Applications, radio, voice and data networks and various automation
• Troubleshooting and simulation tools (Robot Framework, Wireshark, CORE, VBS).

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent OR Related technical degree/diploma supplemented with applicable experience.
• 2+ years of practical experience
• Experience in defining, developing, and executing system tests
• Investigation, characterization, and resolution of defects
• Authoring test documentation, problem reports
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

• This position may require the successful candidate to work all or part of their time at a site/location not controlled by GDMS-C. In these instances, proof of vaccination may be required.

Knowledge or experience in the following an asset:

• Experience with Virtual Machines and Containers
• A background in Information Technology (IT)
• Working knowledge of MS Office suite tools including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with Ethernet communications, networking, VLANs, Internet Protocol (IP)
