  • General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada is looking for an experienced SharePoint Software Developer to apply current graphics design and .NET technologies to develop, modify and maintain its server portals. This requires daily onsite maintenance of the existing SharePoint farms, collaborate within a team environment to multitask, prioritize tasks and manage projects from concept to production. To be successful in this role, you must have effective communication skills, have a strong programming background to commit to high quality/error free deliverables.


    Essential Skills

    • Graduate from a college or university program in Information Development or equivalent work experience. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, and/or related discipline is desired.
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the development of documentation, training or online user resources. Plus minimum 5 years’ experience in process analysis.
    • Typically requires minimum 8 years’ of related experience and post-graduate coursework may be desirable.
    • Microsoft MCPD certified and passed 70-576 exam plus familiar with SharePoint 2010/2013/2016
    • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, and/or SQL Server Integration Services a plus.
    • Experience of formal training in MS Office products including: SharePoint, Visio, Word and Excel.
    • Experience programming in .NET 3.5, C#, ASP.NET, T-SQL, C/C++, XLM.
    • Experience with SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, Web Parts, and workflow creation.
    • Experience as a SharePoint Developer
    • Experience using jQuery, Client Object Model and Service Oriented Architecture.
    • Experience as a SharePoint Developer in the analysis, design, hands-on development and delivery of web-based applications and framework including implementation, configuration, and usages of Search, Managed Metadata and User Profile Services.
    • Ability to write Stored Procedures, write complex SQL queries, and ability to analyze the SQL data is desired.
    • Emphasizes personal and professional growth by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.

    As the SharePoint Developer, you will architect SharePoint and related application solutions by implementing SharePoint based workflows and develop of analytic dashboards. As you maintain its server portals, you will keep attention to detail by studying its requirements analysis and information needs, this will include  systems flow, data usage and work processes. Working and brainstorming within a teamwork environment with project stakeholders and IT management, you will communicate and take lead to perform software design using software development fundamentals and processes, debug, test and deploy software solutions and participating in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. In addition, design, develop and maintain key components of the software suite using classic ASP, .NET and SharePoint Servers. As this role requires a wide degree of creativity and latitude, you must document and build proof of concept examples or graphical simulation which test software and demos for training purposes. This will result in developing and improving documentation processes, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code confidential within its operations.


    Ideally you will have experience in

    • Designing and Developing Applications certification is a plus but not required.

    Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
