  • General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada has a new opportunity for a Junior to Intermediate level System Engineer within our Mobile Domain System Engineering team in our Land & Joint division.

     

    Adopted to an Agile framework, this role would be working within a multi-disciplined engineering team consisted of other system engineers, supporting the Product Development and System Integration teams, this position entails working on the design of new system capabilities requested by the customer and ensure the proper design is captured and documented while taking part in Scrum events and Sprint reviews.

     

    Essential Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related technical/scientific degree
    • Proven experience in System engineering/business analyst or system integration experience preferred.
    • Strong knowledge and familiarity with Enterprise Architect or other UML/SysML modeling tools preferred.
    • Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn

    If you have a keen interest in emerging technologies and information management – the System Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining the overall structure of Enterprise Architect model and Mobile Domain model for the Mobile Domain System Engineering team. As you are interacting with the customer, you will also liaise with the Director Land Command Systems Program Management (DLCSPM) personnel to ensure there is a coordinated approach to the production, review and delivery of engineering artifacts in particular with designated technical OPIs. Supporting various levels of the organization, you will manage System Problem Reports (SPR) by providing proper upfront analysis and input in support to bug fixes as well as seeing the proper close out of each SPR. In the development and documentation process, you will ensure all new use cases and design artifacts are entered into the model correctly and adhere to the requirements using the Interface Control Documents. Other duties would entail supporting internal and DLCSPM/IPT (Integrated Project Team) meetings on as-needed basis.

     

    Ideally you will have experience in

    • Working in progress or have obtained Professional Engineering designation status
    • SW development experience
    • Experience in the development of Land Tactical Systems
    • Familiarity with Canadian Land Forces Doctrine and Operational scenarios


    Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
