    As part of the team, you will play a key role in the architectural and design decisions impacting the Land Command Support System (LCSS) network, which enables command, control, and communication capabilities for Canada’s Army. You will work closely with DND, the Army, and industry partner stakeholders to identify gaps and areas of potential improvement within existing LCSS capabilities to support the end user. Using these insights, you will provide support and guidance on both development and testing to engineering teams.

    The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Define and Document LCSS Capabilities in the form of Capability Descriptions and Scope Statements, Concept of Operations and Operational Use Cases based on the Vision of the Canadian Customer and the needs of the end user
    • Identify gaps and areas of potential improvement with existing LCSS Capability required to support the end user
    • Work with the DND and the Canadian Army to elicit requirements on LCSS Capabilities
    • Provide guidance and support to the development teams for the implementation and revision of capabilities within LCSS
    • Provide support, guidance and recommendations to the stakeholder community (which includes DND, the Canadian Army and other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs))
    • Provide guidance and support to the SoS level Integration and Test including review of test cases, resolution of test discrepancies and analysis of test results
    • Support and present at meetings with internal stakeholders as well as with the stakeholder community
    • Support the development and execution of engineering plans, process and schedules
    • Assume responsibility, ownership, and accountability for deliverables and work products
    • Assume accountability for the quality of deliverables and work products
    • Assume responsibility and accountability for meeting program commitments and achieving program milestones

    Education for applicants with a Canadian Military Service

    • Minimum 10 years of service in either the Canadian Army or Canadian Army Reserves
    • In depth knowledge of general Army operations
    • Specialization in Military Communications in an operational environment is a desirable asset
    • Knowledge and ability to identify and effectively communicate operational requirement, operational context and the operational use of a capability
    • Knowledge and ability to provide operational support and expertise in a lab and field environment to the stakeholder community
    • Demonstrated initiative and strong verbal and written communications skills
    • The ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment, with minimum supervision
    • Demonstrated capability of meeting commitments and delivering high quality work products

    Education for applicants with a Canadian Military Service

    • Proven operational experience and expertise gained while serving with the Canadian Army or Canadian Army Reserves

    • Applicants must also be capable of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) clearance for project related, Technical Assistance Agreement (TAA) controlled, information
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
