  • Project/Program Overview

    As part of the team, you will guide system design and development, creating a high level communications architecture understood by the customer on the application side and implemented by the designers on development side.


    • Develop and design military C2 applications
    • Working directly with customer to develop use cases, elicit requirements, conduct presentations and demonstrations
    • Lead software development through all phases of the project lifecycle
    • Lead architecting software solutions at the subsystem level or higher
    • Create software system design and architectural documentation using UML and architecture documentation tools. (such as Rational Rose, Artisan,Enterprise Architect)
    • Ensure all quality criteria are met for all artifacts produced by the software team
    • Develop requirements and test cases
    • Lead team both in person and remotely
    • Coordinate with software team leads to plan and schedule tasks for the software team
    • Design and implement interfaces, including GUI and User Interfaces
    • Document and develop in-depth knowledge of assigned domain architecture, hardware and network infrastructure
    • Responsible for solution design that aligns with architecture principles, technology standards, best practices and guidelines
    • Responsible for leading a team/teams in an Agile environment (specifically SAFe 4.5) ,
    • Create schedules, estimates and reporting metrics



    • 10+ years developing and designing military C2 applications (eg Hydra, MHP, JIIFC, Aurora, TBMS, Battleview)
    • Experience developing requirements and test cases
    • Experience working directly with the customer to develop use cases, elicit requirements, conduct presentations and demonstrations
    • 2+ years leading a team of software developers through all phases of the project lifecycle
    • 3+ years’ experience architecting software solutions at the subsystem level or higher
    • 5+ years’ experience with UML and architecture documentation tools (such as Rational Rose, Artisan, Enterprise Architect)
    • Experience with architectural patterns (such as SOA architectures and message oriented middleware (DDS, ActiveMQ))
    • Experience leading a team using an Agile methodology, specifically Agile SAFe 4.5.
    • Experience creating schedules, estimates and reporting metrics for a team or teams of 5+ developers
    • Extensive knowledge of software languages (C/C++, C#, Java, etc) and patterns
    • Experience designing and implementing interfaces, including GUI and User Interfaces
    • Experience with data models and data transformations
    • Experience designing and developing GUI and User Interfaces


    • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, System Engineering or equivalent discipline is required

    Minimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security Clearance
    Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position.
