  • Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Manager of Estimating, the primary responsibilities for the position will be in the areas of estimating and proposal process.

     

    The Junior Estimator should have a background in business and financial reporting, related knowledge, and experience. The Junior Estimator will work under general supervision in a hands-on environment, meet deadlines, and provide day to day support to senior estimators.

     

    Typical Duties

     

    The Junior Estimator’s primary responsibilities will include the following functions:

    • Assist more senior staff by taking direction in the estimating process
    • Supports others with review of estimate due dates and collection of cost estimates
    • Data entry of new vendor quotes and estimates into Material Pricing System (EMPS)
    • Generate material reports for review by senior estimators
    • Support staff during kickoff and status meetings
    • Database and File maintenance (CRM, SharePoint)
    • Generate smaller cost estimates with guidance and review by senior staff

    Qualifications

    Required Skills & Experience

    • Strong mathematical and analytical abilities
    • Organized
    • Proficient with MS Excel and MS Office
    • Understanding of Business acumen and importance of customer service while working with internal clients/groups
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with team members and management
    • One year related experience would be considered an asset

    Education

    • Post-Secondary Degree in Business, Finance or other related field.

     

    Note: Overtime may be required.

     

    Minimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security Clearance
    Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position.
