  • Project/Program Overview

    We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Ottawa team. The manufacturing team plays a key role in supporting the development of cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defence services.


    In this role you will plan, design, acquire, commission and support facilities and manufacturing. You will also provide industrial engineering support to other departments in a collaborative environment.


    With occasional supervision:

    • Develops and maintains documented time standards
    • Designs layouts for efficient production, material flow and space utilization
    • Initiates and/or implements process improvements
    • Trains Manufacturing personnel in methods and processes
    • Audits Manufacturing Operations for adherence to methods, processes and cost efficient operation
    • Assists in the preparation of operating, tooling and capital equipment budgets
    • Develops and optimizes the methods and operation sequence of Manufacturing to produce a quality product at minimum cost
    • Plans, designs/develops, selects, acquires, commissions, supports facilities, equipment and tools for manufacturing, handling and packaging of new and existing products in Manufacturing Operations
      Analyzes and reports on the ability to produce new designs
    • Recommends product design changes
    • Provides technical guidance to more junior personnel
    • Assists more senior engineers at design reviews and product discussions, including those with external customers
    • Performs other related duties as required


    • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
    • From two to three years of relevant experience

    Minimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security Clearance
    Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position.
