  • Project/Program Overview

    The Manufacturing Cost Analyst functions as a business support person to the Operations and Financial Management Team. Core activities include analytical efforts associated with understanding manufacturing variances, supporting the monthly financial close, cost reduction recommendations, and new product cost estimates. Works closely with manufacturing to understand issues and how they impact the financial results as well as educate/inform department(s) on cost drivers and variances.


    • Monitor cost account spending within the manufacturing operations
    • Prepare month end analysis of manufacturing productivity and variances
    • Support inventory cycle counting reporting and analysis
    • Analyze actual labour, material against target / budget
    • Research and explain variances.
    • Report this information monthly to manufacturing operations, Program Managers and Finance
    • Support Controllers efforts for implementing and maintaining internal controls for operations and finance
    • Perform ad hoc product / plant cost analysis to support the operations
    • Work with R&D / Operations / Product Implementation on new product costing
    • Support internal audits as required
    • Build a strong understanding of the ERP system to support analysis and communication of appropriate information.
    • Support supply chain management via inventory risk analysis to measure and minimize scrap costs
    • Support process improvements
    • Perform other related duties as required


    • Strong Analysis skills
    • 2- 5 year's experience in cost /accounting
    • Ability to work with people at all levels of an organization and in a variety of disciplines.
    • Strong computer skills Advanced to Expert level in excel.
    • Financial Analysis & Modeling
    • University degree in related discipline

    Minimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security Clearance
    Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position.
