  • Project/Program Overview

    We are currently looking for a Customer Property Specialist to join our Calgary team. As the Customer Property Specialist, you will act as the point-of-contact for the acquisition, control and disposal of assets, including data. You will liaise with Contracts, Materials, Purchasing, equipment manufacturers and end users regarding Customer Property management, accounting, auditing and problem resolution. The portfolio will also include conducting internal audits and supporting customer directed audits as required by company policy and the respective contracts.  Assets may include vehicles, hardware, software, data, documentation and drawings. We are looking for an organized, customer service oriented candidate who takes a diplomatic approach in collaborating with stakeholders. Experience in ITAR or IFS is considered to be an asset.

    Responsibilities

    • Function as a point of contact, both internal and external, for all GFA loan and procurements request through customer SharePoint Project Management Information System 
    • Control, administration and maintenance of all project G/CFA using a tracking database
    • Provide advice and support to the project engineering team and for any project task 
    • Act as Liaison with Contracts, Materials, Configuration Management Group, Purchasing and Vendors to support project requirements; coordinating meeting with internal and external participants 
    • Responsible to conduct programmed or reconciliation stocktaking events of all Customer Property 
    • Responsible to plan, host and supervise all customer sponsored audits 
    • Execute Customer Property stocktaking and customer audits
    • Perform other related duties as required by the Customer Property Manager
    • Co-ordinate the shipping and receiving of materials from and to all project labs in Canada, Calgary with GD Canada’s customers, Lab Administrators and Materials group to ensure orderly uplift of all project customer property
    • Liaise with various groups within the Canadian and international groups; working on other projects in order to provide support documentation to the materials group for the shipping and receiving of materials from and to all project labs in Calgary 
    • Prepare monthly Internal Program Review inventory reports
    • Any other customer property administration duties as required with Contracts, Materials, Purchasing and Vendors to support project requirements
    • Plans, monitors and conducts minimum bi-monthly customer property and GFI audits within the project; this may include scanning the bar codes or other means of verification. Audit report shall be prepared and published in a timely manner and audit results made available in project reviews
    • Assist with shipping instructions 
    • Manage the customer property SharePoint page; active directory, documentation; reports, current links 
    • Assist with export classification identification ; shipping instructions 
    • Advise programs of TAA status, requirements, restrictions 
    • Maintain ITAR AUVL lists ITAR Active directory lists

    Qualifications

    • A working knowledge of MS office excel, project and access
    • Experience in SharePoint applications (Project Management Information System (PMIS)
    • Experience in maintaining inventory control systems
    • Superior presentation skills, excellent written communication
    • Strong verbal communication skills; ability to negotiate
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision, proactive personality, excellent follow up
    • Ability to multitask multiple priorities and projects
    • Minimum 2 to 3 years of related experience in inventory management, contracts
    • A minimum 2 years experience dealing with CFSS
    • The ability to communicate in both official languages would be consider an asset

    Other 

    •  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience will be considered 

    Minimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security Clearance
    Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position.
