    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for leading the Electro-Mechanical development
    • through the full design life cycle
    • Responsible for verifying design compliance to specified requirements.
    • Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities in trouble-shoot test failures and anomalies in determining both the root cause(s) and appropriate fixes.
    • Documents and analyzes results writes formal test reports.
    • Responsible for satisfying the performance specification set by the customer through the application of effective requirements management
    • Responsible for effectively communicating cross-functional design requirements across the Integrated Project Team (IPT)
    • Responsible for leading and/or significantly contributing to technical reviews (internal/external) and IPT meetings
      Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers or technicians
    • Provides progress updates to the Mechanical Engineering Manager/ Team Lead, Program Manager/Engineer, as required
    • Responsible for Problem Reporting and proactively taking actions to resolve stated problems in a timely manner.
    • May be assigned technical and program related responsibilities for engaging subcontractors/suppliers; budget estimates, define and plan schedule

    Qualifications

    • Require a minimum of 8+ years of related experience.
      Strong verbal and written communication.
    • Experience leading technical reviews and inspections; excellent presentation skills to clearly convey technical and non-technical data to enable comprehensive evaluations and critiquing of the design.
    • Experience in analyzing and interpreting mechanical technical drawings, ability to generate high quality technical reports, test plans/ procedures, investigation/analysis reports.
    • A strong understanding of manufacturing and fabrications processes to assess, troubleshoot and work collaboratively with Designers
    • Design for Manufacturing and Assembly principles and planning; Electro-Mechanical product architectures; Identification and Integration of multi-disciplinary requirements; Engineering and Design Verification Testing; Use of test equipment and instrumentation required to execute tests;
    • Experience in project management principles and performance metrics to assist management in any scheduling, budgetary development, bids/proposals and other program related functions.
    • Strong customer service skills and demonstrated ability of working in a team environment, fostering collaboration

    Education 

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, or applicable technical or scientific discipline

    Minimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security Clearance
    Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position.
