The General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada, Vetronics team has a requirement for an Intermediate Level Software Engineer to support multiple programs in the embedded computing and displays product area. Our products have become an integral part of combat vehicle platforms such as the M1A1 Abrams tank, the Stryker family of Armored Fighting Vehicles, the Joint Light Tactial Vehicle (JLTV) and the Mine Resistant Ambush Protested (MRAP) vehicles.
The successful candidate for this position will contribute directly to the design and implementation of embedded software for the Vetronics team.
•Candidates should have more than 3 years’ experience developing embedded application software for embedded processors and Intel based single board computers
•Experience with BIOS configuration and customization for Intel x86 computers
•Experience with product development and deployment with embedded RTOS
•Experience developing software for video products such as displays and cameras
•Experience with ARM based micro-controllers is highly desired
•Experience with video processors (e.g. Texas Instruments Da Vinci)
•OS: MS Windows, Linux, VxWorks
•C/C++ and various scripting languages
•Design and development of OS device drivers
•Software/hardware integration and test

•Experience working in a team environment with systems, software and hardware engineering peers

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security Clearance
