    Project/Program Overview

    We currently have a new opportunity for an intermediate level System Integration & Test Engineer in Calgary. Reporting to the Integrated Tactical Network (ITN) Team Lead, the successful candidate will primarily be assisting the ITN System Integration team with definition and execution of integration activities as part of the ITN task. The successful candidate will participate by applying engineering knowledge and techniques to write, execute and report on all test activities while operating independently.

    Responsibilities

    The duties of the intermediate System Integration & Test Engineer will include, but are not limited to:

    • Review of system and subsystem requirements specifications, interface control documents, design documents and use cases.
    • Development of system integration and verification test procedures, including configuration descriptions and expected outcomes, in accordance with the design documents and General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada processes.
    • Execute formal and informal test procedures, gather appropriate measures and data. Document all results.
    • Perform investigations to clarify system problem components for further analysis.
    • Write defect and test reports to demonstrate progress, communicate as required.
    • Participate in integrated team activities with system engineering and development engineering teams.
    • Conduct himself/herself professionally at all times, in all meetings and activities, and when included in customer attended events.

    Qualifications

    • Positive approach to learning and trying new things.
    • Excellent communication abilities (written and verbal).
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience (Bachelor’s degree) or 4 years’ experience (technical diploma) with the Integration and Verification of complex electronic systems comprising both developmental and COTS/MOTS components.
    • Knowledge and experience with engineering and SIV&V process.
    • Experience in defining, developing and executing integration tests for complex functionality, and understanding the interdependencies and interactions between subsystems.
    • Experience in the investigation, recommendations, and resolution of complex defects.
    • Thorough understanding of the product development life cycle and associated processes
    • Familiarity with radios, voice/data networks, and Internet Protocol (IP)

    • IXIA.
    • CORE.
    • Python.
    • Rational Team Concert/Quality Manager/DOORS.
    • MBSE Tools (e.g.Enterprise Architect, Artisan or Rational Rose).
    • Microsoft Visio and other Office Suite products.
    • Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest.
    • Microsoft Project, and other MS Office products

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or applicable scientific discipline is required.
    • Candidates with diplomas will be considered with adequate additional experience.

    Minimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security Clearance
    Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position.
