General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada currently has a new opportunity for an experienced Software & Systems Engineer within our Airborne Systems Business Area. Working with the Aurora Ground Facilities team, you will play a key role in the team through software/system integration, testing and debugging while working closely with the customer, the end-user and subcontractors to define, debug and isolate issues. The position involves regular communication with all key stakeholders and customer representatives, providing updates and reporting both verbal and written. Excellent listening, writing skills, and strong technical competencies are essential.
The Ground Facilities segment encompasses the development, installation, integration and maintenance of the Ground Facilities required to support in-service operation of the CP-140 aircraft. The main components of the Ground Facilities are the Operational Mission Simulator (OMS) and the Procedures Crew Trainer (PCT). Both the OMS and the PCT are being maintained to support the Block III CP-140 aircraft and are being upgraded to allow the proper training of aircrews for the Block IV CP-140 aircraft.
The purpose of the OMS and the PCT is to allow individual crew members to learn how to use mission systems (sensors, weapons and communication) and allow part and complete crews to train as a team to accomplish specific mission tasks. They provide the CP-140 mission crew with the training facilities to learn, practice and enhance those skills, knowledge and attitudes that create an effective mission team. The OMS and PCT are installed across Canada at multiple sites and will require travelling.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or applicable scientific discipline is required.
Minimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security Clearance
Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position.
