    Project/Program Overview

    General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada has an immediate opening for a Supply Chain Procurement Manager.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Leading a team of buyers, commodity specialists, and analysts through the execution of a unified Supply Chain Management (SCM) strategy.
    • Coordinating all activities necessary to successfully support the material and service procurement requirements of internal customers, primarily Manufacturing.
    • Developing and maintaining supplier performance management and supplier qualification systems in accordance with ISO and AS9100 requirements.
    • Leading resolution of supplier performance problems, including crisis management, with regard to quality, delivery and cost.
    • Developing and maintaining SCM processes and policies that maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
    • Building effective working relationships with senior management, internal customers, external customers, and strategic suppliers.
    • Strict adherence to ISO/AS9100 purchasing requirements as well as all laws (procurement, contract, export, etc.) and corporate policies.
    • Responsible for clearly articulating issues and possible solutions.
    • Take leadership roles in resolving issues to closure.
    • Responsible identifying risks, assess impact, and develop mitigation strategies.
    • To be able to conceptualize complex issues and translate them to executable steps for quick resolution.
    • To be able to defuse difficult situations.
    • Ensures adequate communication of requirements, forecasts, proposal status, project deliverables, acquisition strategies, vendor development, risk mitigation efforts and any other mission critical supply-side requirements.
    • Ensures adequate communication of SCM activities, SCM commodity team strategies, progress and priorities to facilitate alignment of efforts, understanding and accountabilities.
    • Provides focal review of SCM advanced planning and consolidation of forecast from revenue-down and proposal/project activity upward.
    • Transmits potential short term and long term new vendor identification information to SCM teams to ensure full due diligence and qualification efforts occur prior to design-in or commercial commitments.
    • Major participant in annual SCM strategic planning exercise as the “voice of the internal customer” to ensure correct priorities are established.
    • Bridges the organizations to ensure accurate target prices are set, actual historical values utilized in bids and ongoing improvements measured.
    • Ensures intergroup gaps are closed and that SCM processes are optimized and mapped according to business unit strategies and businesses.
    • Participates in selected Vendor evaluations, supply chain design and integration, IRB/SME/Aboriginal business obligation strategies.
    • Brings business unit strategy requirements to SCM strategic planning to ensure alignment.
    • Supports the identification, benchmarking and development of key suppliers.

    Qualifications

    • University degree (Business Administration, Engineering or Accounting)
    • PMI, CPIM and/or CPP Certification
    • 10-15 years experience in a high technology, defense, government or manufacturing environment
    • Preferred experience in a military production environment
    • Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel)
    • Program/Project Management
    • MRP experience
    • Excellent negotiation skills
    • Strict adherence to timelines; deadlines
    • Very customer focused

     

    Minimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security Clearance
    Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position.
