    Project/Program Overview

    Position will be established at 443 (MH) Squadron in British Columbia

     

    Within the Maritime Helicopter Project (MHP) In-Service Support (ISS) program, GDMS-C provides a logistics and material support service to the CH148 Helicopter Project including airborne and associated ground systems.

     

    The ISS Team is currently looking for a Field Support Representative - Logistics (FSR-L) to provide long-term Logistics and Supply Chain support to fielded product at the Department of National Defense (DND) facility located on the Airport at Victoria BC. The FSR-L is responsive to internal GDMS-C program requirements as well as on-site customer support needs. Operating principally from the GDMS-C Contractor Field Office (CFO); the FSR-L is an integral member of the onsite multi-contractor team, advising Senior Aircraft Maintenance Authorities and Logistics Managers on material and equipment related matters.

     

    The LSSR must have relevant experience balancing company and customer requirements, working in a multi-contractor environment, analyzing materiel problems and shortages, as well as conducting routine and priority Supply Chain functions to support a fast paced operational environment.

    Responsibilities

    TYPICAL DUTIES

    The LSSR will represent GDMS-C to the DND and partnered contractor communities in a professional manner, within a broad scope of activities, such as but not limited to:

    • Represent GDMS-C in providing timely daily material status reports and direct support to customer queries related to GD provided equipment
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, other contractors and internal stakeholders alike
    • Investigate customer reported Technical Problems (TPs) related to material, inventory and supply chain issues, including identification of appropriate corrective actions
    • Coordinate availability of all GDMS-C provided material located in the contractor warehouse, ensuring acceptable level of sparing and consumables to meet the customer’s operational needs
    • Participate in deployment planning meetings and coordinate the tailoring of DND deployment Pack-up kits as well as replenishment requirements for GD provided equipment
    • Perform routine and priority supply chain functions required to ensure efficient support of GD provided material to and from the warehouse; including but not limited to shipping/receiving, Incoming Quality inspection and take immediate action to correct non-conformances
    • Coordinate and prioritize R&O functions required to ensure timely routing of equipment through the R&O pipeline; focus on maintaining sufficient level of stock onsite to support customer’s operational needs 
    • Liaise with internal Engineering, Life Cycle Maintenance Managers (LCMM) and Logistic support personnel to ensure In-Service field requirements are well understood during routine problem resolution as well as continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Manage databases and asset tracking tools to ensure all required material is available to end users and tracked to meet program availability metrics

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum 10 years recent experience in the field of material logistics and supply chain; preferably in a customer facing role and within DND and Canadian Government material support processes
    • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with Customers and Team Members
    • Detailed knowledge of industry standards for common material as well as aircraft components including safety controls, repair and overhaul, and proper storage handling requirements
    • Knowledge and experience with databases, spreadsheets and asset management systems related to standard material and inventory best practices
    • Experienced in industry standards for material shipping, receiving and packaging 
    • Experienced in conduction quality control inspections related to aircraft components
    • Have proven experience working independently, remotely and with minimum supervision
    • Working knowledge of Airworthiness regulations related to Supply Chain and material handling processes
    • Knowledge of DND MH Operations and Maintenance environments would be an asset
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment, with minimum supervision
    • Must be willing to be permanently located to the Greater Victoria area

     

    EDUCATION
    Minimum grade 12; ideally a post-secondary or equivalent diploma in a related materiel and supply chain field, combined with proven experience/training, civilian or military, in large scale fast paced supply chain materiel environment.

     

    Minimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security Clearance
    Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position.
