The broad spectrum of work in Land & Joint Solutions requires an equally broad spectrum of skills from hardware, software & systems engineers as well as mathematicians, physicists, and other specialties. We work not only in the direct development and production of military products, but also in the life-cycle support. BOWMAN is the tactical communications system integrating digital voice and data technology to provide secure radio, telephone, intercom and tactical internet services in a modular and fully integrated system. This program converted over 18000 platforms, just over 10 years ago. General Dynamics Missions Systems–Canada is looking for a working level Software Engineer to join the BOWMAN product development team in Calgary, to support ongoing future capability development.
The successful candidate will hold a software engineer role and participate in a team based environment to carry out various systems engineering activities; applying engineering knowledge and techniques to carry out all stages of software engineering, such as requirements elicitation and analysis, software design, implementation, integration and verification.The selected candidate will work closely with a team of highly skilled professionals in a collaborative environment. High team participation and co-operation is mandatory. The selected candidate will take day-to-day direction from the Engineering Manager (or their designate) and work with other peers assigned to the project.
