Typical Duties:

  • Responsible for SA&A activities where required for General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada products on proposals and programs
  • Take part in discussions with the customer to ascertain their needs and reach a final agreement on the SA&A requirements
  • Responsible for review and understanding of customer inputs as they relate to Cyber Security
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, to work cooperatively and effectively with a broad range of colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize information, assess risks and opportunities, and make recommendations on potential courses of action
  • Ensure that Cyber Security documentation is produced where required for program and functional compliance e.g. SA&A Plan, Threat Risk Assessment, Security Concept of Operations, Security checklists, Poicies, Orders, Reports and Plans
  • Expected to work in a laboratory environment developing and executing test cases
  • Expected to be able to troubleshoot various systems both in a laboratory environment as well as well as in an operational environment
  • Support internal and formal technical reviews
  • Monitor system design and provide design advice and analysis
  • Identify Cyber Security risk areas and recommend courses of action
  • Provide progress reports to CSS Manager
  • Perform other related duties as required


Required Skills & Experience:

  • 2 or more years of related experience
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • High degree of initiative and work habits that accomplish functional and business goals with autonomy
  • Experience in one or more of these areas are an asset: Network Security principles and practice, Vulnerability Analysis, Threat Risk Assessment, Public Key Infrastructure concepts with hands-on implementation as well as Operating System Hardening
  • Security Assessment & Authorization (SA&A) experience is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with current government and industry standards such as ITSG-33, NIST SP 800 and 1800 Series, ISO/IEC and other related standards is an asset


  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical/science/mathematics degree with proof of continuous development of Cyber Security related professional knowledge and/or skills. 
  • Industry certification such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, GSEC, Security+, Network+, CCNP, etc., or other related networking or security certifications would be viewed as an asset.

 Minimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security Clearance
Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position.
