Maritime Acoustic Systems (MAS) are world leaders in Underwater Submarine Warfare acoustic signal processing systems. Our team has provided Acoustic Signal Processors and Ground Analysis Systems for the CP140 Aurora and the CH-148 Cyclone aircraft and numerous other maritime patrol platforms throughout the world. The Software Engineer will work closely with a team of highly skilled professionals in a collaborative environment. High team participation and cooperation is mandatory. The selected candidate will take day-to-day direction from the Project Engineer (or their designate), and will be responsible for supporting junior engineers assigned to the project.
•Assisting and supporting lead engineers and team members
•Performing some basic design and/or analysis functions based on requirements
•Documenting the analysis, design and test in accordance with development standards
•Participate in integrated team activities with System Engineering, Development and System Integration.
•Developing and performing tests and debug of code
•Identifying defects, resolving issues and verification
•Supporting and performing system level test and integration efforts
•Participating in code reviews
•All other duties as required
•Able to apply problem solving skills to daily activities.
•Experience developing system software
•Experience in programming in C/C++
•Experience in programming in Qt an asset
•Experience with the Agile software process
•Excellent communication and time management skills
•Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills
•Enthusiastic contributor, willingness to learn new skills and takes on ownership of work
•Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment, with minimum supervision
•Knowledge or background in underwater acoustics and submarine detection an asset
•Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science/Applied Science or related technical/scientific degree
Minimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security Clearance
