Project/Program Overview

The Combat Platforms team in our Land & Joint business area is looking for a Project Management Coordinator to join its team.  Reporting to the Program Director, the main purpose of this role is to assist the Project Manager/Director in coordinating administrative requirements for the project management team, and analyzing the inputs relevant to managing a project to ensure the goals of cost, schedule and quality are met.


Typical Duties:


It is expected that the Project Management Coordinator will perform activities under the direction of the Project Manager (or Program Management Lead), including, but not limited to:

  • Input and report on project performance as defined in the Project Plan
  • In concert with the Project Management Analyst, Finance and Estimating, coordination and maintenance of activity-based plans and project schedules, including input to the Engineering and Project Management Plans for current and future programs
  • Support coordination of identified IPTs including matrixed support agencies
  • Define, document and control an integrated database structure capturing all project-related data such as staffing, requirements, configurations, procurement status, defects, problems, action items, risks and review minutes
  • Support periodic schedule status and reporting including preparation of presentations for OPRs, IPRs and other project reviews.
  • Coordinate all required administrative and matrixed support effort for the group to support program requirements
  • Monitoring the work of the team to provide metrics of project performance
  • Assist with contract close-out activities, including deficiency list preparation and estimates, collection of close-out documentation and related closure activities such as spares coordination
  • Other special or necessary project related duties as requested by the PM, DPM, Engineering Manager or others
  • Support in the development of programmatic information to be presented to senior management including risks, issues, concerns, cost and schedule
  • Assist with procurement duties and related efforts to support integration activities
  • Assist in the identification and tracking of risks and associated implementation of mitigation strategies
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and estimating to complete and monitor deviations to planned activities
  • Provide Bid and Proposal support to the Capture or Engineering Manager
  • Assist in interactions with customers to identify and define system requirements, resolve technical issues and/or provide on-going assistance/support


Required Skills & Experience:

  • 1-2 years related practical project experience
  • 1-2 years of relevant technical experience



  • Degree or diploma in Business or Engineering-related discipline with relevant experience or equivalent to diploma experience
    Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM), PMP or PMP in-training or equivalent


Minimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security Clearance
Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position.
